you successful in your professional or personal life? These keys
to your success can sometimes appear to be elusive. Just when
we think we have it figured out, something happens and we say to

The Keys to Our Success - What
Doors Can We Help You Unlock?
By: Dave Vogelpohl
One of the
questions posed to us on the application for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce's
Pinnacle Award was "What are the Keys to Your
Success". Since we won the award for the small
entrepreneurial businesses category, we must have given a pretty good
answer to this and the other questions. Here's what we
said: "The keys to the success of Excellerate Solution's have
been a consistent focus on the needs of our clients, making a
positive difference for everyone we come into contact with, and
standing in the place of greatness for our
clients." Of course, these words alone were not
sufficient to win the award, or to be here to celebrate our 6th
year of being in business.
By
making this focus our mantra and sustaining it
consistently, we've shown up in a different way in our
work, our community and in our personal relationships. It's
caused us to shift what we do and the way we do it even in the face
of the recent economic downturn. When many coaches
decided to pursue other career and business opportunities, this focus
enabled us to continue to identify and engage new business in the
following ways:
- Involvement
in the Raleigh Chamber: small business CEO round-tables, AM
networks, mega networking, etc.
- Increased
our networking efforts by joining groups, such as BNI, Inside
919, Rotary, and Raleigh Wake Human Resource Association
- Conducted
more workshops and seminars: global healthcare, business
advisory partners, industry associations, private and public
companies, etc.
- Invested
in certifications in new coaching processes and tools through
collaborations with industry thought leaders
- Brought
Susan Arnold on as a business partner with new ideas,
connections and approaches
- Reinvented
ourselves by deploying our skills in new areas: global
sales and business development, energy management for full
engagement and youth ministry leadership
- Offered
more flexible payment options to make it easier for small
businesses to use our services
- Improved
our marketing efforts using video, newsletters, social media,
blog and SEO - our website now ranks on the first page for
"Raleigh Business Coaching"
- Increased
our commitment to the community by volunteering more, which
increased our presence and helped impact more people
In summary, by
incorporating more collaboration, creativity, reinvention, and
through creation of new client solutions we have been able to not
only survive the economic downturn, but become a better version of
ourselves. We've consistently focused on the key to our success
in all of our interactions and creatively adapted our approaches to
reflect the realities of our situation.
So, what are the
keys to your success, both personally and professionally?
If you know what they are, then how do they play out in your business
and personal approach, methods and results? If you'd like
to explore what your keys to success might be and how to get them
working for you and your business, we'd be happy to engage in a
complimentary initial coaching session with you. Just
give us a call.
